FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
All depends on the package.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
It’s best to schedule your newborn photos during your second or third trimester to ensure availability. After your baby arrives, you will contact us to confirm the exact date for your baby's photos in our photo studio. Newborn sessions are best done between day 5-14 days old. Yes, babies come whenever they want! If you are thinking about booking a newborn session, be sure to make contact sooner than later, In order for me to honor a flexible schedule to baby's arrival.
How should we dress for our family session?
If you plan to take any family and/or sibling photos, I do not travel with large backgrounds. Your family photos will be photographed using an area of your home (a bed, a couch, the nursery, or even a neutral wall).
When thinking about what to wear for your family photos, consider where in your home you will be photographed. If it is an area with light colors then you should use light to medium clothing. If it is an area with dark colors then medium to dark clothing will work well. The important thing to remember is that if one person is in a light color and another person is in a dark color, the eye will be drawn to the contrast of the two colors and not to the expressions. Also, solid colors and subtle prints are always preferred to bold colors and bold prints.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
Absolutely — it’s more than ok. Most people don’t feel naturally confident in front of a camera. It’s a skill, not a personality trait, and it grows with comfort, not perfection.
What usually helps is remembering that the camera isn’t judging you; it’s just capturing a moment. And honestly, the best photos and videos come from people who are simply being themselves, not trying to perform.
If you want, we can talk through what specifically makes you uneasy — posing, expression, not knowing what to do with your hands, anything at all. There are easy tricks that make a huge difference, and none of them require you to suddenly become a model.
